Team and Club Gifts: A Bar and Case for Sports Clubs and Companies

Team and Club Gifts: A Bar and Case for Sports Clubs and Companies

A solid bar with its own small case works well as a team or club gift: everyone gets the same useful thing, it goes straight into a kit bag or hand luggage, and it gets used up rather than stored. Before you order for a group, check whether anyone avoids fragrance.

Buying for twenty people is a different job from buying for one. You need something nobody will find odd and nobody has to carry home in a bulky box. For a sports club, a squad off to an away tournament or an office of people who travel for work, a bar and a case ticks most of those boxes.

For a present for one person, our bar and case gift guide is the better read, and our complete guide to carrying a bar covers cases themselves.

Key facts

  • US public health guidance for athletes says to shower immediately after exercise and not to share bar soap or towels.
  • Under EU rules, liquids in cabin baggage must be in containers of no more than 100 ml, inside a transparent bag of up to 1 litre.
  • Schiphol counts shampoo among the liquids and puts body wash with the gels.
  • A dermatology reference estimates that roughly one adult in a hundred has a fragrance allergy.
  • Fragrance mixtures in cosmetics carry the INCI name Parfum.

What makes a good team gift?

A good team gift is useful, small and the same for everyone, so nobody compares. It should fit in a kit bag or a work bag, get used rather than put on a shelf, and not be too personal. Something used after training or on a work trip fits that brief.

Think about where the gift ends up the day after. A mug joins a full cupboard; a bar in its own case goes into the gym bag after a Tuesday session and comes out again on Thursday. And when everyone opens the same thing, you don't have to guess twenty sets of tastes. The one choice left is scent, which we come to below.

Occasion Who it is for Why a bar and case fits
End of season Players, coaches and volunteers at a sports club A thank-you they will use at the first training of the next season
Tournament or away weekend A squad sharing hotel rooms or club showers Each person has their own bar for the changing room
Training camp Athletes away for a week or more One bar for hair, body and face instead of three bottles per person
Staff who travel Colleagues who fly with hand luggage A solid bar is not on the airport liquids lists
Sinterklaas or Christmas A whole office or club Small, the same for everyone, and used up rather than kept

A Rinsed bar is a syndet bar, with Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate as the first ingredient and no saponified oils, and it is one solid 3-in-1 bar for hair, body and face. Our gift bundle puts one bar together with our metal travel soap case in a Rinsed™ gift box.

Everyone gets the same gift box, so a pile of them on the clubhouse table reads as one gift from one team. You can see both versions on our gift bundles page.

What is a good sports club gift for the end of the season?

Something every player can use at the next session, which is why a personal wash kit works well. US public health guidance for athletes says to shower immediately after exercise and not to share bar soap or towels. A bar and case of their own gives each player exactly that, in a size made for a kit bag.

In a changing room, sharing happens without anyone deciding it: one bottle passed along the bench, one bar left on the tiles after a home game. The same guidance advises against sharing towels, washcloths and razors too. A bar per person, in a case in that person's bag, keeps it simple.

Don't forget the volunteers who line the pitch or drive the minibus to away games: a gift box each says thank you without a speech.

Some of your players may already use one of our bars. For them, the case on its own is a smaller thank-you: it is black, made of aluminium, weighs 20 g and holds one Rinsed bar.

A black aluminium case for one Rinsed™ bar. Weighs 20 g and keeps the bar tidy in a gym bag or hand luggage.

Remind the squad that the case travels with the kit and the bar lives on a dish at home. Players still deciding whether a bar beats a bottle after training will find both weighed up in our gym shower comparison.

What is a good corporate travel gift for colleagues?

Something that makes the next work trip a little easier. For colleagues who fly with hand luggage only, one solid 3-in-1 bar covers hair, body and face and stays out of the see-through liquids bag altogether. The case keeps it tidy next to the laptop.

EU rules allow liquids such as cosmetic creams or gels in the cabin only in containers of no more than 100 ml, inside a transparent bag of up to 1 litre. Schiphol counts shampoo among the liquids and puts body wash with the gels, and a solid bar appears in neither group. Think of a sales team out on a three-day trade fair with cabin bags only: the bar frees room in each person's clear pouch for contact lens fluid or toothpaste. Airports outside the EU can differ; soap at airport security has the detail.

It sits well in an onboarding kit, and at Sinterklaas or Christmas it works because it is small and the same for every desk. For packing tips to pass on to a travelling team, hand luggage only toiletries covers the rest of the bag.

Ordering for a large group? Our contact page is the place to ask about a larger order.

How do you choose a scent for a whole group?

Either let people pick or order a mix. The formula is the same in both versions, so the scent is the only difference: Minty Cactus or Blossom Blast. A quick poll in the group chat means nobody ends up with a scent they wouldn't have picked.

If asking isn't practical, order a mix, put the boxes on a table at the end of season drinks and let people take the one they like. A mix also helps a squad sharing hotel rooms: two people in one bathroom can tell their bars apart.

Whichever way you go, both versions come in the same Rinsed™ gift box, so a mixed pile still reads as one team gift.

Should you ask whether anyone avoids fragrance?

Yes, and do it privately. Every Rinsed bar contains Parfum, which rules our bars out for anyone allergic to fragrance or who sticks to unscented products. A dermatology reference estimates that roughly one adult in a hundred has a fragrance allergy, so in a club of a hundred members, one person with it would be no surprise.

The same reference notes that even products sold as unscented can hide a masking fragrance, so people who react to it tend to scan every ingredient list. A one-line message to each person, or a tick box on the order form you send round, saves anyone from explaining their skin in front of the squad. Have a second small gift ready for those who opt out. What they look for on a label is set out in fragrance allergens explained.

How do you hand out the gift with a short how-to?

Keep it to a few words people will actually read on the bus home: one bar for hair, body and face; give it time in the open air after each shower before the lid goes on; and keep the case and bar apart at home so both stay dry. That is all most people need.

Coaches and team managers can say it once in the changing room, or add it to the final club newsletter of the year. The step people skip is the drying. After an away game in a changing room with no shelf, the bar tends to go straight into the case, dripping, and stay zipped in the kit bag until the next session. Shaking off the water and leaving the lid open on the coach ride home already helps, and so does keeping the case itself dry.

  • Hair, body, face: one bar does all three.
  • Air first, lid second after every shower.
  • At home: bar on a dish, case in the kit bag.

For more, getting a bar dry enough to close in and keeping the case itself clean cover the next steps. Anyone after the lightest kit can compare a case, a soap bag or a ziplock.

Summary

A bar and case suits gifts bought in numbers: end of season thank-yous for players and volunteers, squads off to tournaments and training camps, and colleagues who travel for work. It is useful, small and the same for everyone, and a solid bar is not on the airport liquids lists.

Two things make it work. Check privately for anyone who avoids fragrance, since our bars are scented, and let the group choose its scents or order a mix. Then hand the boxes out with a short reminder that the bar needs air before the lid goes on.

Frequently asked questions

Is a bar and case a good gift for a sports team?

For most teams, yes. US public health guidance for athletes says to shower immediately after exercise and not to share bar soap or towels. A bar and case gives each player their own wash kit for the changing room.

What makes a good gift for a whole club or office?

Something useful, small and the same for everyone, that fits a kit bag or work bag and gets used rather than stored.

Is a bar and case a good gift for colleagues who travel?

For colleagues who fly with hand luggage, yes. EU rules limit liquids in the cabin to 100 ml containers in a 1-litre transparent bag, and a solid bar is not on the airport liquids lists.

How do you order Rinsed gifts for a large group?

The gift bundles page shows both versions of the bar and case in a gift box. For a larger order, use our contact page and ask about your numbers.

Which scent should you pick for a group?

Let people choose between Minty Cactus and Blossom Blast, or order a mix of both. The formula is the same, so the scent is the only difference.

Should you check for fragrance allergies before ordering?

Yes, if the bar is scented, as ours are. A dermatology reference estimates that roughly one adult in a hundred has a fragrance allergy, so in a big group ask each person privately and keep a second gift ready.

What should you tell people when you hand it out?

A short reminder is enough: one bar for hair, body and face, air after each shower before the lid goes on, and a dish at home instead of the case.

Why should the bar dry before it goes in the case?

Whatever water goes into a closed case stays there until someone opens it again. Shaking the bar off and leaving it in the open for a while before packing keeps both the bar and the case drier.

Loved to use them during my trip to Scotland and will continue to use them here in the netherlands everywhere. Especially places where I like to go, but never take the liquid soap like the gym :)
